Whether it’s trying to get 5, 50 or 500+ to execute on technology systems, the structure starts with some basic principles. It’s often a challenge getting end users to implement what’s new.
Being on the receiving end of new technology with the expectation of assisting others to implement it, I have found that addressing key points can get end users and vendors over the hurdle of starting something new.
1. Acceptance
> Who is your target persona?
> Onboarding specifics - IT, pilot plan and users.
> Cadence and touchpoint frequency.
> Training - in person or virtual?
> Get user feedback.
> When are impact and ROI revealed?
2. Onboarding
> Who should be at the initial onboarding?
> What will be the focus of initial onboarding?
> When will initial onboarding take place?
> Where will initial onboarding take place?
> How long should initial onboarding take?
3. Relationships (hint: it’s a marathon not a sprint)
> Systems: Ex: Goal alignment, Risk management, Tailored Support
> Know stakeholders, but don’t lose track of the end user.
> Cadences for stakeholders AND end users.
> Don’t lose track of current customers.
> Understand KPIs.
> Utilize the right data.
Technology is playing a crucial role in the advancement of Dentistry. Implementation must be handled correctly, intentionally and sincerely for the end users to benefit, contracts to get renewed and for long-lasting changes to care.
Dentelligence can help you fill in the gaps or provide answers the above criteria when implementing technology for clinicians.
